Jero's Site

I was reading over at Mombian and she posted a couple of yummy sounding variations of Cranberry Sauce I decided that Id add a couple of my own holiday recipes I hope you like green beans LOL

Green Bean Casserole a la Jero

Ive always loved traditional green-bean casserole; Yeah the recipe is on the can of green beans; Ive tweaked the recipe a bit and it absolutely rocks

3cans of;cut green beans (drained)
3cans ofcut wax beans (yellow green beans (drained)
1 can of sliced mushrooms (drained)
1 1/2cans of Cream of Mushroom soup
1/2 cup of milk
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 tsp. of crushed red pepper (optional)
1 large can of Frenchs Fried Onions

In a large bowl, combine green beans, mushrooms, soup, milk, salt and pepper, crushed red pepper, and 1/2 can of Frenchs fried onions. Transfer to large casserole, or pyrex dish and bake at 375 for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle remaining Frenchs onions over the top and bake another 10 minutes or until top is golden brown.

The following hors d'oerves recipe I got from a good friend of mine years ago. This one is also slightly tweaked and is a huge hit at parties:

Green Bean Bundles a la Jero

3 cans of whole green beans
1 package of bacon cut in half into 3-4 inch slices
1 cup of butter
1 cup of brown sugar
1/2 tsp of garlic salt
Soy Sauce
Toothpicks (wood not plastic);

The night before the party:

Drain green beans and empty into a large bowl or dish. Take 1 slice of bacon and roll it around 6-7 green beans and hold together with a toothpick.  Place in casserole dish or metal baking pan. Continue this process until
all of the slices of bacon have been used.

In a small saucepan, mix butter, brown sugar, garlic salt and a few dashes of soy sauce (1 tbsp). Cook on medium heat until all butter is melted and everything is mixed together smoothly. Pour entire mixture over green bean bundles, cover and refrigerate over night.

An hour before serving, place in pre-heated oven at 375 degrees and cook uncovered for 30 minutes.

Enjoy!
